Unfortunately I was turned down for funding to do a Psychology PhD at Brunel University. However, I have landed on my feet by getting a place on a one-year MRes course at York University.
It has started reasonably well, but at the moment the whole experience feels slightly strange. This is partly due to having spent three months mentally preparing myself to be going to Brunel and partly because I have been to York Uni many times, but never as a student.
The induction program went well and despite my late application, I am almost up to speed. This week is the first full week of my timetable and I am slowly bringing my focus back round to essay and report writing. As well as this, I am already trying to sort out a project supervisor for next year. I am hoping that it will be Professor Alan Baddeley, one of the co-authors of The Working Memory Model.
All for now - more as and when it happens.
